- ➤ Joel Americo Garza Junior, 51, was arrested in Hidalgo County for allegedly selling illegally cloned modems after investigators seized over 50 devices during a months-long probe by Spectrum and the sheriff’s office—more arrests are expected as the investigation continues. KURV

- ➤ Edinburg will host a film-friendly workshop on Aug. 30 at the ACE Center on W. McIntyre St.—the session runs from 11 a.m. to noon and is followed by a networking hour with free coffee and pastries for filmmakers and local business owners.
