ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A motorcyclist was critically injured on eastbound Interstate 2 near Pharr at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday when he lost control, hit a second motorcycle, and was struck by an oncoming vehicle — causing the flyover from Edinburg to San Juan to close and lanes to reduce until 11 p.m.  KURV

CRIME NEWS

  • Dash cam video from DPS shows a high-speed chase in Weslaco where Cesar Rafael Leon, who was driving a gray Ford SUV carrying five undocumented individuals picked up near Mercedes after they crossed the Rio Grande on a raft, was arrested — he appeared in federal court today and now faces charges that could result in up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.  FOX RGV

  • Magic Valley Electric Cooperative will raise rates on October 1 for Rio Grande Valley customers, who will pay about 12 dollars more each month—this is the first increase since 2018.  KURV
