- ➤ On June 13, three Edinburg Police Department employees were honored in Austin for their service and bravery at the State of Texas Law Enforcement Achievement Awards, hosted by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Communications Manager Elias Martinez received the Public Service Award for implementing a live video system for dispatchers—while Officers Jose Ramos III and Robert Lee Garcia were awarded the Valor Award for rescuing a child from a burning home on March 9.
