CRIME NEWS
- ➤ CBP officers arrested a Mexican citizen, Christian Eduardo Quezada-Valdez, on Easter Sunday at the Hidalgo port of entry after nearly 64 pounds of cocaine hidden in the gas tank of his black GMC Terrain were detected by an X-ray machine—he now faces charges for illegal importation. MyRGV.com
- ➤ Elmor Leonel Ramos-Aburcia, a Honduran man, was arrested on April 15 after he allegedly assaulted a U.S. Border Patrol agent near the Brownsville international bridge by trying to scale the border fence, forcing his way into a patrol vehicle and biting the agent; officers from Customs and Border Protection and the Texas Department of Public Safety subdued him while the FBI leads the investigation, and he now faces three counts of assaulting a federal officer.
