- ➤ A man died when his white Dodge Ram lost control on FM 907 and Beaumont Street north of Alberta Road in Edinburg at around 7:40 a.m. Thursday—after the vehicle spun into an eastside bar ditch and struck a light pole, the Texas Department of Public Safety said it is investigating the crash. KRGV

- ➤ A 15-year-old male was arrested by Edinburg police on the outskirts of Donna after he was identified as one of three suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery at the Nine Tails Smoke Shop on the 3700 block of North Doolittle Road—two additional suspects remain at-large. KRGV

- ➤ Hidalgo County’s election department tested its voting equipment on Wednesday to prep for the municipal election scheduled for May 3rd; the public was invited to watch the ballots run through the machines—ensuring the equipment will count votes correctly. - ➤ Edinburg High School held a recognition ceremony on March 27 from 3:40 to 4:30 p.m. in the EHS Library at 2600 East Wisconsin Road to honor its powerlifting team for their state medals—honorees included senior Lynette Herrera, who made a comeback after a season-ending injury, as well as Ariel Segura, Jade Guzman, Jasmine Garcia, Nadi Ruiz, and Daniella Izaguirre.
