- ➤ Officials unveiled a $1.4 million mobile unit in Weslaco that lets six agencies coordinate emergency calls when 9-1-1 services fail. The unit was shown on Wednesday at the South Texas All-Hazard Conference (with training for 3,000 first responders) and strengthens regional disaster response. KRGV

- ➤ UTRGV Football will host an open practice on Mar. 28 at Robert and Janet Vackar Stadium starting at 9:45 a.m. Gates will open at 8:45 a.m., and a free youth clinic for children in grades 2 through 5 will follow at 11:30 a.m.; registration is required for the clinic. The Edinburg Advocate
