Officials unveiled a $1.4 million mobile unit in Weslaco that lets six agencies coordinate emergency calls when 9-1-1 services fail.
The unit was shown on Wednesday at the South Texas All-Hazard Conference (with training for 3,000 first responders) and strengthens regional disaster response.

UTRGV Football will host an open practice on Mar.
28 at Robert and Janet Vackar Stadium starting at 9:45 a.m. Gates will open at 8:45 a.m., and a free youth clinic for children in grades 2 through 5 will follow at 11:30 a.m.; registration is required for the clinic.
