Hidalgo County Precinct 4 and Edinburg CISD will break ground on Feb.

25 at 10 a.m. for Southeast Park at 4483 E. Canton Rd. (behind Betts and Esparza Elementary Schools). The park will feature a splash pad, trails, an inclusive playground, and sports courts for southeast families.

Edinburg CISD conducted an intruder audit on 33 campuses on Wednesday and found that some doors did not lock properly because vendors left them open or required keypad modifications (three campuses had minor locking issues).

Edinburg Police Department will graduate eight cadets from its inaugural academy class tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the City Council Chambers at 415 W.
