El Mesón Community Kitchen and AltaCair Foundation will host a holiday tamale fundraiser to help feed 750 Hidalgo County families this season, offering 70 dozen chicken tamales with salad plates and seeking food donations plus monetary contributions to cover ingredient costs.
On Dec. 17, the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office and Precinct 4 will host a toy giveaway and holiday celebration at Alfonso Flores All Star Park in Edinburg, featuring free food, games, rides, and a Santa photo, and families are encouraged to arrive early for festivities between 5 and 9 p.m.
🎓 Education
Precinct 4 partnered with the Casanovas Foundation to launch $1,000 scholarships for Hidalgo County women to gain leadership skills via a one-year coaching program—applicants must meet income requirements and attend a Dec.
21 session. Women can apply online for the Heart Mind Money Club.
