- ➤ El Mesón Community Kitchen and AltaCair Foundation will host a holiday tamale fundraiser to help feed 750 Hidalgo County families this season, offering 70 dozen chicken tamales with salad plates and seeking food donations plus monetary contributions to cover ingredient costs. - ➤ On Dec. 17, the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office and Precinct 4 will host a toy giveaway and holiday celebration at Alfonso Flores All Star Park in Edinburg, featuring free food, games, rides, and a Santa photo, and families are encouraged to arrive early for festivities between 5 and 9 p.m. The Edinburg Advocate
