On November 27th, Hidalgo County Precinct 4 opened its first Community Closet inside the Precinct 4 Endowment Center at 107 Sunflower Road in Edinburg to provide free clothing and personal care items for residents—an effort established in partnership with the AltaCair Foundation.

Edinburg will begin its downtown holiday festivities Dec.

4 when officials host an evening tree lighting ceremony at Promenade Park Amphitheater from 6 to 9 p.m.—the kickoff for the two-day 'Miracle on McIntyre Street' celebration.

Edinburg Parks and Recreation will open registration on Dec 1 for its annual Deck the House Holiday Decorating Contest to let residents display festive home decorations.

Residents must sign up by emailing [email protected]+ before Dec 12 at 7 p.m.+ the contest features five categories that honor brightness, elegance, creativity, spirit and tradition.
