ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ An Economedes High School bus carrying 31 students crashed at the intersection of Ramseyer Road and Terry Road in Edinburg last Friday - campus emergency personnel evaluated the students and one was taken to a hospital as a precaution while the Texas Department of Public Safety investigates, reporting no major injuries. - ➤ The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library is hosting creative workshops for teens and tweens throughout November. The programs begin today at noon with a Día de los Muertos mask-making activity — additional sessions include polymer clay, caramel apple, pumpkin recycling, guided journal, and illustration slide tutorials with materials provided and no registration required. - ➤ Edinburg High School alum Natalia Cardenas joined South Texas College's new Architecture Program launched in 2024—she blended her graphic design skills with a passion for building to pursue her lifelong dream, while the program trains students to become licensed architects. Cardenas plans to continue her studies with a master’s degree at a Texas university after completing her associate degree. The Edinburg Advocate

- ➤ The Texas Water Foundation will host the third Binational River Symposium in McAllen from November 5-7—more than 100 stakeholders including government officials and scientists will discuss water security, infrastructure investments, and the future of the Rio Grande. Rio Grande Guardian
- ➤ TxDOT announced that southbound lanes on I—69C between Exit 11 and Business Highway 281 in Edinburg will be closed on weeknights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for two weeks of paving work—drivers should expect delays and follow posted detour signs. The Edinburg Advocate

- ➤ Dr. Juan Diego Palacios (board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism) discussed National Diabetes Month in an interview with the Rio Grande Guardian. He said the DHR Health Diabetes and Endocrinology Institute, with clinics in Edinburg (among other locations), offers comprehensive care and education to help manage diabetes. Rio Grande Guardian
