- ➤ Last Friday, visitors at Toluca Ranch in Progreso went through a live haunted house with actors who scared them and made ghost stories real—bringing to life the rich history of the old property. The event, run by RGV Helping Hands, took place on the 1910 ranch and helped many people enjoy a unique Halloween experience. MyRGV.com
- ➤ Alfredo “Freddy” Gonzalez Post 408 is set to host the 48th Annual Pan de Campo Cook-Off on November 1 at the Edinburg Amphitheater where teams will compete in chicken, ribs, and brisket contests and the event will feature live music, market vendors, and food; registration fees are $250 for teams and $25 for jackpot entries. - ➤ The City of Edinburg is organizing its 14th Annual Edinburg Cares Food Drive to help local families by distributing 1,000 turkeys and 1,000 food baskets on Nov. 22nd following a kickoff ceremony at 9 a.m. at the Parks and Recreation Department—residents are asked to donate non-perishable food items through Nov. 18th and volunteer to assist with sorting and deliveries.
