- ➤ The Edinburg Police held the final Coffee with a Cop event on Oct. 27 at a Starbucks on E. Trenton Road from 8 to 10 a.m.—residents met with officers to ask questions and share concerns. The event was part of National Coffee with a Cop Day to build community trust. The Edinburg Advocate
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Visitation for South Texas ISD student Colin Feltis, who died last week in a two vehicle crash on the expressway in Donna, begins today at 5 p.m. at Legacy Chapels on South Jackson Road—his funeral service will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Palm Valley Church on South McColl Road with a request that attendees wear tropical shirts. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Edinburg CISD Board of Trustees will meet today at 6 p.m. at the Administration Building to review routine personnel issues including hiring a new counselor for L.B. Johnson Elementary School and other staffing decisions. The board will hold a closed session for employee matters, and its decisions will be announced during an open session—citizen comments will be taken before the board enters closed discussion.
