- ➤ Edinburg Economic Development Corporation and Chamber of Commerce will hold a groundbreaking on Friday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. at 2200 S. Raul Longoria Road for Plaza Guerlain—a new commercial project featuring multi-tenant spaces and on-site parking designed to boost local job growth. The Edinburg Advocate

- ➤ South Texas ISD and its campuses earned an A+ and a No. 2 ranking among Texas districts in Niche’s Best Schools rankings, celebrating 12 consecutive years of top performance. - ➤ Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library in Edinburg is hosting free children’s programs throughout October at 1906 S. Closner Blvd. The schedule offers Toddler Time on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. (Oct. 7, 14, 21, and 28), Pre-school Story Time on Fridays at 10 a.m. (Oct. 3, 10, 17, and 24), Homeschool Hour for ages 6 to 11 on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. (Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29) and a Not So Spooky session with costumes and trick-or-treating on Oct. 31.
