The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library invites families to decorate pumpkins based on children’s book characters in its annual contest.

Registration is open and pumpkins will be submitted from Oct. 13 to Oct. 19 at the Library’s Children’s Department on S. Closner Blvd., with entries displayed from Oct. 21 to Oct. 31 and pick-up scheduled from Nov. 1 to Nov. 5.

Edinburg’s Parks and Recreation Department and the World Birding Center will host Spooktacular 2025, a free family event on Oct.
