- ➤ The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce is hosting a business-focused forum on Oct. 9 at 9 a.m. at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance—mayoral candidates Johnny Garcia, Richard Molina and Omar Ochoa will speak with moderator Sergio Sanchez while the event is reserved for Chamber members in person and broadcast live. - ➤ Homeowners in Edinburg will be able to learn about property tax savings and complete homestead exemption applications at the 3rd Annual Registration Event on Oct. 15 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Arts, Culture, and Events Center — county appraisal officials will answer questions and guide qualifying residents through the process. - ➤ Edinburg native attorney Sergio J. Sanchez has announced his bid for Texas House District 41. He has lived and worked in the district for over 25 years and says he will fight for safer communities—lower taxes, better schools and more support for local families. MyRGV.com
- ➤ Edinburg Chamber of Commerce expanded the Oct. 9 Public Affairs candidate forum to the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance auditorium—raising capacity from 300 to 800 seats due to high community interest. Mayoral candidates Johnny Garcia, Richard Molina, and Omar Ochoa along with council candidates Jason De Leon and Dan Diaz will speak while 300 public seats are available via online registration and the forum will be livestreamed on KURV 710 AM, YouTube, and social media.
