The Edinburg Police Department is asking local residents to join its free Citizens Police Academy, which starts Oct 7 and ends Nov 15 at the training facility on N.
Doolittle Road. Classes meet Tuesday evenings and two Saturday morning sessions plus cover topics like patrol work, investigations, and police driving; applicants must be 21, live or work in Edinburg, and apply by Oct 3.
