  • Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Spooktacular event for families on Oct. 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the World Birding Center on S. Raul Longoria Road, where local vendors will offer games, crafts, food + candy with free admission for all.  The Edinburg Advocate

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Coffee lovers in Edinburg can join the self-guided Sips Tour: Edinburg’s Coffee Run on Oct. 1 — featuring stops at local cafes such as Match Made, Qargo Coffee, Profein Coffee, Coffee Zone, Rossina Cafe, The Caffeine Library and Starbucks. Residents are encouraged to visit at their own pace — an event organized by the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce to support local businesses.  The Edinburg Advocate

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Edinburg Municipal Court will host an outreach docket at El Tule Recreational Center on Friday, Oct. 3 from 2 p.m.—7 p.m. to help residents resolve unpaid tickets close to home.  The Edinburg Advocate
  • The Edinburg Police Department is asking local residents to join its free Citizens Police Academy, which starts Oct 7 and ends Nov 15 at the training facility on N. Doolittle Road. Classes meet Tuesday evenings and two Saturday morning sessions plus cover topics like patrol work, investigations, and police driving; applicants must be 21, live or work in Edinburg, and apply by Oct 3.  The Edinburg Advocate
