- ➤ The Friends of the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library are hosting their annual book sale today at the library (1906 S. - ➤ The Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library in Edinburg celebrated Library Card Sign-Up Month on September 26 by launching a raffle giveaway and residents who sign up or renew their library cards will enter for a chance to win a literacy basket—filled with books, DVDs, and prizes—with ongoing access to books, audiobooks, Blu-rays, video games, and computers with high-speed internet. - ➤ Edinburg Council Member Dan Diaz said the city’s fast growth will lead to nearly 6,000 new homes—with 4,500 permits pending—a tech expansion by Zoho, an enhanced UTRGV football program, and improvements like the Hidalgo County Courthouse and a parking garage to support its current 109,000 residents. He added that the sweep in the Readers’ Choice Awards shows strong community support and sets the stage for more business investments. Rio Grande Guardian
