A roundtable discussion led by Henry Cisneros on a recent KLRN broadcast found that South Texas & Northern Mexico are emerging as an industrial superpower with new projects in local manufacturing, including a Valeo plant in McAllen that will hire 500 workers.
Jorge Torres of Interlink Trade Services briefed MEDC that Toyota’s San Antonio expansion positions South Texas to attract suppliers and boost manufacturing, with local assets like the Valeo operation already gaining attention.
He urged regional leaders to form cross-border partnerships (including in pharmaceuticals) for long-term growth.
