UTRGV School of Medicine faculty advanced Alzheimer’s research yesterday when Dr. Carlos Martinez-Menendez received the first NIH Career Development Award—his study focuses on how Alzheimer’s affects Hispanic patients in the Valley.
Dr. Jesus Melgarejo also secured a $220,000 NHLBI grant to research blood pressure patterns linked to dementia for improved local care.
