A prayer vigil is being held today at 6 p.m. on the UTRGV Edinburg Chapel Lawn by Turning Point USA to honor conservative activist Charlie Kirk—killed Wednesday during a college event in Utah.

At the Edinburg CISD board meeting on Tuesday, board member Letty Garcia questioned a potential conflict when a vendor with a district employee relative was considered for a $2.1M drainage improvement project at Edinburg North High School.

After a private discussion—triggered by legal counsel’s advice—the board unanimously approved letting the superintendent negotiate a contract with Synergy Development.
