Abbott’s desk to replace the STAAR test with three shorter exams that students will start taking in the 2027-28 school year, and the bill eliminates the graduation requirement for English II while speeding up test score returns.   • ➤ County officials opened the valley’s first OnMed CareStation at the McAllen clinic on Sept. 3—using telehealth to let residents check vital signs and speak with a doctor in real time.
