A San Juan man pleaded guilty to causing an accident involving death and was sentenced to five years in prison in a deadly crash that killed Rodolfo Trevino along Interstate Two on July 8th, 2023—investigators tied him to the crash using debris, surveillance footage and an anonymous tip.

Authorities warned of deadly risks at the border after three undocumented individuals were arrested while hiding inside irrigation pipes in Hidalgo County—Operation Lone Star, a joint effort among local, state and federal agencies, will strengthen measures to reduce illegal crossings.
