- ➤ On Saturday at 5:30 p.m., a 19-year-old motorcyclist from Mission lost control on Trinidad Lane near Alton—he was ejected, hit a light pole, and died after being taken to Mission Regional Medical Center. KRGV

- ➤ Spectators were disappointed when SpaceX called off Sunday's Starship launch at Boca Chica because of a problem with the ground system, and the company will try the 10th test flight next Monday at 6:30 p.m.—many had driven long distances to see it. KRGV

- ➤ Law enforcement in the Rio Grande Valley carried out multi-agency Operation Pick-Off that began on August 22 and led to 78 arrests for immigration violations—many facing immediate court appearances or removal. KRGV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Edinburg CISD board will meet at 6 p.m. to approve the 2025-26 budget, set new tax rates, review a $42,400 safety audit contract, and consider hiring a new finance director.
