Edinburg Mayor Ramiro Garza Jr. was diagnosed with prostate cancer after a routine checkup early this year and had surgery, so he did not seek reelection to focus on his health and family—he has shared his journey online to encourage other men to get checked and plans to launch an online news site about the region's growth.
