South Texas Health System honored three Edinburg police officers for saving a near-drowning 2-year-old back in March.
The Hometown Heroes Award was given during a ceremony at the police department after the child spent nearly two weeks in pediatric intensive care and recovered with minimal effects.

Weslaco firefighters responded to a fire at Valley Grande Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation, evacuating residents and transporting one person to a local hospital for heat-related concerns as the blaze was contained.
