🎓 Education
The Texas Education Agency released its letter grades for Rio Grande Valley schools for the 2024-25 school year.
Most districts in Hidalgo County earned a C or better though Monte Alto received a D, while South Texas ISD in Cameron County earned an A—181 schools scored an A, including 113 in Hidalgo.
🏥 Health
The City of Edinburg in partnership with local health organizations will host a free Prostate Cancer Wellness Event on Sept.
2 at the ACE Center located at 315 W. McIntyre St.—the event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and offers PSA testing, blood pressure screenings and a panel discussion with Mayor Ramiro Garza Jr. and a urologist on early detection.
