🎓 Education
South Texas College will extend hours for fall registration at its Pecan, Mid-Valley, and Starr County campuses on Friday, Aug.
21 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Saturday, Aug. 22 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), helping students sign up for classes.
🏛️ Government
The City of Alamo completed a $1.8 million drainage project on Wednesday along Alamo Road, replacing old pipes with 48-inch pipes to help reduce flood risk after over 150 water rescues occurred last year.
🏈 Sports
The City of Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department will host its 6th Annual Triathlon on Sunday, Aug.
16 at 7:30 a.m. at the Edinburg Municipal Pool, 125 E. Mark S. Peña Dr. Registration is $30 — the first 300 registrants receive a T-shirt.
