The Edinburg Fire Department will host Sparky’s Back to School Bash on Tuesday, Aug.
11 at the Promenade Park Amphitheater (201 W. McIntyre St), offering free haircuts from 3 p.m. at the ACE Building for K-12 students and family-friendly games, food, and an outdoor movie later in the evening.

Missoula Children’s Theatre interactive workshops will run Aug.
11-13 at the Edinburg Municipal Auditorium (200 N. 7th Ave) from 1 to 1:45 p.m. each day, offering grade-level sessions in role-playing, improv, and acting; registration is available online or by calling 956-388-8224.

Banda earned the Distinguished Favorite title for his book The Sons and The Stars at the 2025 NYC Big Book Award and received additional honors from other literary groups. His book is available at Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library on S. Closner Blvd.

The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library released its August program schedule for adults featuring cooking and life skills sessions, crafting, a seed bomb workshop, car safety training, Tai Chi for seniors, an open mic night and a 'Patriots Day' movie screening, all held at 1906 S.

Edinburg's Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library is offering three free, hands-on programs for teens and tweens in August—popsicle making on Aug.
8 at noon, STEAM bracelet crafting on Aug. 15 at noon, and keychain design on Aug. 25 at 6 p.m., with supplies provided.
