AG Ken Paxton launched a state investigation earlier this week into Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission and Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco after billboards near the border promoted the 'Have My Baby in Texas' campaign that may have encouraged illegal birth tourism; the hospitals dispute the claims.

Edinburg leaders plan to revitalize downtown by creating a master plan that includes better street lighting, a shuttle, improved drainage, and beautified sidewalks.

Mayor Omar Ochoa (leading the project) said community input will help build on recent upgrades like the courthouse and a parking garage under construction.
