- ➤ Jorge Rodriguez is accused of stealing $2.7 million from 18 victims and faces 13 charges in Hidalgo County+he is set to appear in court on August 12th. FOX RGV

- ➤ Dr. Daniel P. King of Region One Education Service Center said studies show students do better with certified teachers—state leaders have now reversed course to support teacher certification. The new House Bill 2 will bar uncertified teachers from core classes and schools must comply by fall 2026. Rio Grande Guardian
