The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley is hosting a food drive today for flood-impacted families, asking for canned proteins and ready-to-eat meals at its building on North Cage Boulevard in Pharr.
Donations will be sent to the South Texas Food Bank tomorrow.
🎓 Education
Edinburg CISD will host Enrichment Week from Monday, Aug.
17 to Friday, Aug. 21 at all district campuses—offering free hands-on activities, meals, and transportation for Pre-K3 to 12th grade students while featuring projects in science, sports, music, and arts.
The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library in Edinburg will show The Patriot on Sunday, July 26 at 2 p.m. as part of its Family Movie Day series, with free snacks available while supplies last.
The monthly film series will continue through December at 1906 S. Closner Blvd.
Today, Senior Corporal Valerie Martinez of the Edinburg CISD Police Department completed an elite school safety master training course through the Texas School Safety Center in San Marcos after finishing 128 hours of training in areas including youth mental health and crisis response; she is assigned to Edinburg High School.
