- ➤ The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce and its partners including the UTRGV Career Center, ENACTUS Student Organization, Vantage Bank, and the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation launched a Micro-Internship Program yesterday to link small businesses with college interns for short-term project work at no cost. - ➤ Today, the Small Business Administration announced that homeowners, business owners, and nonprofits in Cameron, Hidalgo, Willacy, and Starr counties can apply for physical damage loans to repair property damage from severe storms and flooding in late March. - ➤ Edinburg Economic Development Corporation named Jeffrey Salcedo Cantú its new international development business manager—he joined two months ago with work experience at Televisa, KRGV-TV Channel 5, and a digital marketing firm in Reynosa. He said he will use the city’s quality-of-life factors, academic strengths, agriculture, and key highway routes to connect Mexican investors with local businesses. Rio Grande Guardian

- ➤ City of Edinburg crews will start mosquito spraying as weather allows — using sprays only when wind speeds fall below 10 mph — to reduce mosquito populations and lower the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses.
