- ➤ On Monday, DPS agents in Hidalgo County seized over 390 bundles of suspected meth—valued at more than $2.4M—from a truck at Pharr Point of Entry after finding a false compartment, and the driver was arrested. KURV
- ➤ Authorities arrested 35-year-old Margarito Alcantar yesterday after a chase that started in Pharr and ended in Edinburg—he is wanted for failing to appear in court on a murder charge and hit several DPS vehicles before crashing into a wall on Eldora Road. KURV
- ➤ South Texas man Carlos Cardenas, Junior—a twenty-year-old—was sentenced to life in prison without parole after pleading guilty to capital murder for a deadly 2023 hotel stabbing in McAllen—he was arrested more than two years after two people died at a Motel 6 along Expressway 83 when a knife was found near one victim.
