An Edinburg man paid $2,240 for repairs at a McAllen shop and now seeks a refund after work was never completed.

The Better Business Bureau lists five unresolved complaints (the shop has an F rating) while the owner cites health issues and staffing shortages as reasons for the delays.

The City of Edinburg Cultural Arts Division will host a free Juneteenth celebration at Municipal Auditorium on June 12 — doors open at 5:30 p.m., a commemorative ceremony starts at 6 p.m. and a Memphis Soul tribute band, co-presented by Village in the Valley ViVa and Edinburg Arts Foundation, performs at 7:30 p.m.

The Riva Institute of Cosmetology in Weslaco is offering a free summer program for teens with Down syndrome.

Green Valley Farms residents are questioning a water bill hike to $80 after March floods as East Rio Hondo Water Supply Corp. raised rates to help fund a $99 million plant expansion (with debt passed to customers).
