- ➤ A 33-year-old man barricaded on a rooftop in Edinburg for five hours and displayed erratic behavior today until officers took him into custody around 6:30 p.m.—he is now scheduled for a medical evaluation. FOX RGV
- ➤ A 33-year-old man was arrested in Edinburg on Monday after he climbed onto a roof on the 900 block of Los Ebanos Court at around 6:30 p.m. while trying to flee police, and he was taken for medical treatment for suspected drug use before he faces charges. KURV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ At Monday night’s meeting, the Edinburg CISD Board rejected superintendent Mario Salinas’s plan to hire a new Chief Academic Officer because no trustee seconded the nomination of Jose Garza — saying that current curriculum executives are sufficient.
