- ➤ The Edinburg Police Department will host a three-day women’s self-defense course from June 1 to 3 at the Cpl. Derek Hernandez Police Training Facility (1313 N. Doolittle Road); sessions run from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and are open to women 18 and older. The Edinburg Advocate
- ➤ Edinburg will soon build a new $125,000 outdoor fitness court at De Zavala Park funded by a federal grant; the court offers strength and cardio stations and gives the nearby elementary school exclusive weekday access while opening to the public at 4 p.m. weekdays, weekends, and summer.
