ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On May 3 at 1:19 a.m., Edinburg Police responded to a rollover crash near Owassa Road on I-69 frontage road where a white 2009 GMC Yukon rolled several times, ejecting driver Diedra Lyneth Arroyo who was killed and passenger Tatiana Giselle Garcia who suffered minor injuries; the cause remains under investigation. - ➤ The Edinburg Police Department said on social media that a viral Facebook post claiming officer Carolyn Lynch is missing is a hoax—this post falsely reported that her car was found with her daughter inside and has been linked to a nationwide scam. KRGV
- ➤ Port leaders at the Port of Brownsville are negotiating with carriers to add container operations—if these talks succeed, the upgrade will require new infrastructure and may take between 24 months and five years to complete. The port, which currently handles bulk and break bulk cargo, also plans to use AI to improve tracking and expand its industrial park. Rio Grande Guardian
