The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library will host the E&C Literacy Festival on Saturday, May 2 from noon to 2 p.m. at 1906 S.
Closner Blvd, offering family activities (alphabet bingo, read-aloud stations, puppet theater, interactive games, and free books) to promote literacy among local children and families.

Edinburg Police Officer Fernando Cervantes was selected for the 2026 Texas Law Enforcement Achievement Award for Valor for his brave actions on Sept.
16, 2025 + he will be honored at an awards ceremony in June at the Texas State Capitol.
