Residents are invited to join the 2025 Trash Bash on Saturday, May 3 at Fountain Park starting at 8:30 a.m.—volunteers will meet at 1210 E.
Kuhn St and work together to clean local streets and parks. The event, hosted by the City of Edinburg Department of Solid Waste Management, provides supplies for all ages.
Edinburg EDC’s FLIP Program won a 2025 Economic Development Organization Award from Business Facilities magazine on April 30 for its work improving business facades, signs, parking lots, and accessibility.

Texas lawmakers praised a new water deal brokered by USDA and the State Department to send water from Mexico to border communities; the agreement directs an immediate release into the Amistad Dam reservoir and monthly flows into the Amistad and Falcon dam reservoirs—Senator Cornyn and Congresswoman De La Cruz credited officials for upholding a 1944 treaty.
The Edinburg Parks and Rec Department will host Senior De Mayo on Friday, May 2 at the Jose Nieto and Consuelo Alfaro Robledo Center—also known as El Tule—from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering free food, games, arts and crafts, and group exercises for residents aged 50 and older.
The event aims to promote wellness and community connection among Edinburg’s seniors.
