A woman from Illinois pleaded guilty to two counts of intoxication manslaughter after her Ford Escape failed to yield at a stop sign on April 23, 2024 at Alamo Road and Texas Road in Edinburg—killing a passenger and the driver of another vehicle—and she was sentenced to 20 years in prison to be served concurrently.

A 58—year—old man was arrested Friday in Pharr for a car chase and crash in San Juan after he allegedly took his ex—girlfriend’s car by force at a McDonald’s parking lot and caused a four—vehicle crash that injured several people including a police officer; he faces charges of robbery, child endangerment, evading arrest, resisting arrest and assault on a peace officer with a $475,000 bond.

UTCRS STEM Summer Camps will run from June 2-26 at UTRGV Edinburg Campus where K-12 students will work with robotics and transportation engineering tools.

Orientation sessions will be held in May and a final competition will conclude the camps on June 27.
