The Museum of South Texas History will host ¡Cascarón 2025! on April 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.—a community Easter egg hunt and family celebration featuring interactive activities, nutritional sessions led by museum staff and the Rio Grande Valley Food Bank, and free bilingual picture books for children.
The Edinburg Municipal Court extended its Amnesty Program until April 30 to let residents settle fines, set up payment plans, and have failure to appear charges waived for Class C misdemeanors.
Residents must visit the court at 100 E. Freddy Gonzalez Drive from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
City officials declared a local state of disaster after nearly 12 inches of rain fell in less than 24 hours on March 27—severe flooding triggered road closures and water rescues across the city.
Emergency crews from the Edinburg Fire and Police Departments activated the Emergency Operations Center to assist residents and advise avoiding flooded areas.
