- ➤ San Carlos will host the 26th Annual Kite Fun Fly Festival on March 22 at the San Carlos Endowment Center at 107 North Sunflower in Edinburg. The festival will feature kite flying from 8 to 10 a.m. and family activities until noon—free kites will be provided and local partners support the event. The Edinburg Advocate
- ➤ More than 5,000 AEP customers in Edinburg remain without power as over 17,000 outages were reported Wednesday morning because of a transmission outage. The city warned drivers to treat intersections with faulty traffic signals as four-way stops. KRGV
- ➤ The Rotary Club of Edinburg is preparing for Bayou Brewfest as it celebrates 100 years, and the event will be held on Saturday, March 29 at Promenade Park Amphitheater on 201 West McIntyre Street. - ➤ McAllen police arrested 40-year-old Roberto Ramirez Gutierrez and 39-year-old Rosbel De la Fuente Hernandez after detecting gambling activity on the 600 block of South 23rd Street on Tuesday—each was charged with possession of a gambling device, keeping a gambling place, and gambling promotion with bonds set at $9,000.
