Edinburg will host Frida Fest 2026, a free public event on Saturday, March 14 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Promenade Park Amphitheater with live music, dance, family activities, and food vendors (celebrating Frida Kahlo's legacy).

The Edinburg CISD board held an executive session Tuesday, March 11 to review Superintendent Dr. Mario Salinas’ contract and accepted the evaluation report without further action.

Cameron County will begin acquiring land this early spring for an East Loop highway in Brownsville designed to ease I-69E and State Highway 48 traffic and improve safety near schools, as part of a larger plan to build an international trade corridor for overweight trucks from Mexico.
