On Monday, Governor Greg Abbott and the USDA secretary toured a new sterile fly facility in Edinburg opened to stop screwworm infestations that threaten the cattle industry.
A horse infected with the pest was intercepted in Florida prior to the tour.
🏥 Health
The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library is hosting a free heart health lecture series on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. in February at 1906 S.
Closner Blvd; today's session covers cholesterol while Feb. 17 and Feb. 24 will cover high blood pressure and stroke awareness (in partnership with local health programs).
