- ➤ The Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library is offering free children’s programs throughout January, including Homeschool Hour at 11 a.m. today and Pre-School Story Time Fridays. All sessions are held at the library — 1906 S. Closner Blvd. The Edinburg Advocate

ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Edinburg’s annual tree recycling program accepts natural Christmas trees free of decorations from Jan. 5 to Jan. 30 at the Resource Recovery Center, Regional Sanitary Landfill, or Nature Trail Park. Trees over 6 feet must be cut in half (guidelines apply) to turn holiday waste into mulch. The Edinburg Advocate
- ➤ Residents in Edinburg are invited to join the curbside recycling program for a $5 monthly fee, with collections occurring twice monthly. Households can sign up online and contact the Solid Waste Management Department at its N. Jasman Road office for more details. The Edinburg Advocate
